CCM GP 450 Adventure
Designed and built in the UK, the 2013 CCM GP450 Adventure bike brings together innovative technology, top quality components and years of motor industry experience. Due to its lightweight Bond-light frame of 9.5kg, the GP450 Adventure has a combined weight of only 125.5kg. It has a long range fuel tank, a durable 30KW engine and true off-road handling, the GP450 allows you to expand your adventure and achieve the ability to truly tackle both off-road and on road terrain.
The street legal new CCM GP-450 Adventure promises to be a fun, and versatile. Powering the new CCM is a version of the 449cc single designed, and built for BMW. With its abandonment of Husqvarna, the engine is no longer featured in a BMW product, but it continues to be manufactured by Kymco, which is supplying motors to CCM. In the CCM, however, output is substantially reduced to 40 HP (from the claimed 52 HP when BMW intended it as a race engine). For street use, the five-speed, relatively close-ratio transmission could be a bit of a liability, although CCM is reportedly claiming the bike will comfortably cruise at 70 mph (with a top speed just north of 90 mph). CCM Director, Austin Clews said: “The GP 450 Adventure represents four years of hard work and investment. Everything we learnt from CCM Racing feedback has gone into the new bike. "CCM are relying on the commercial success of this new model to provide a solid platform from which we can launch a whole new range of motorcycles."
